Lake and Nature Museum
About
All the beauties of the wild life, geology, and geography of Aiguebelette lake gathered in a lovely human scale museum.
The tour enables children and grown ups to learn through testing and observation; a notebook will be given to you.
This museum, built by the F.A.P.L.A (Federation of the Aiguebelette lake protection associations), is about geology, history, lake archeology (pile dwelling site classified as a UNESCO World Heritage) and offers various reconstructed sceneries: a unique collection of over 75 protected species that can be easily watched over a certain amount of time.
This protected taxidermised animal collection is authorised and under the surveillance of the DDT in order for you to discover these rare local species.
This collection is the product of 30 years of work from a local association, and counting.
Workshops and shows are organised every week: you can go on fapla.fr for more information.
Free tours are organised during special events.
The museum is a part of Nature day during spring, and of the European heritage days as well as Science day during autumn.
